Caution urged as works advance on Shopping Centre Roundabout

Galway City Council is urging motorists to be cautious approaching the Galway Shopping Centre roundabout as major changes are underway.

Work is on schedule to change the roundabout into a traffic light junction.

This includes a new entrance and exit to Galway Shopping Centre, the elimination of the slip road off the Quincentennary Bridge onto Headford road and new junction at Terryland and the entrance to Dún na Coiribe.

All students will return to school on Monday (2/9) and there are fears the works will cause traffic chaos.

The works are due to be complete by the end of October.

However Director of Services with Galway City Council, Ciarán Hayes says motorists need to take their time and follow the directions:
