A Castlegar man who spent the morning at Galway District Court walking in and out of the courtroom telling friends when their cases were called, was not present in the courtroom himself when his case was mentioned

Judge Mary Fahy remarked that the court would need a revolving door to accommodate the man

James Lynch, of Two-Mile-Ditch, Castlegar, was charged with driving without insurance or a driving licence at Ballybane on October 2 last.

When he failed to answer when his name was called, Judge Fahy remarked the accused, who was “well known” to the court, had been in and out of the court all morning and it was “just typical” that he wasn’t present when his own case was called.

“He is the biggest messer, going in and out, in and out of the court all day. He’s haunting the place. He actually comes to court when he is not needed at all” Judge Fahy aid of the accused.

Judge Mary adjourned the matter to next Monday, for hearing
