A Galway suburb’s struggle with urban sprawl is being highlighted at a public meeting tonight.

Action Group, Castlegar Connect, says they’ve got urban problems in a rural area but no solutions are being provided by the city council.

The Castlegar community has no amenities, no playground, no bus stops, and no footpaths or lights.

Castlegar Connect are holding a public meeting in the Corinthians Rugby Club at 7 pm.

Mayor of Galway Cllr Tom Costello and Cllr Mary Leahy are expected to attend.
