CARNMORE PARK AND RIDE TO START NEXT MONTH

A pilot park n’ ride scheme at Galway airport is expected to begin next month.

A meeting of the city council last evening heard the bus service from Carnmore to the city centre will get underway in early May.

It’s anticipated the buses will run every 20 to 30 minutes and is part of a business plan to secure the future of the Galway airport site.

Meanwhile, Galway Chamber of Commerce is asking its members and the public to take part in a survey on the viability of a Carnmore to Dublin bus service.

The idea is that the current airport site would become a transport hub, and take passengers directly to Dublin airport.

The survey can be accessed on the chamber of commerce website.

Speaking on Galway Talks, CEO of Galway chamber of commerce Micheal Coyle explained they now need feedback on the proposals.
