CANADIAN AMBASSADOR WELCOMES GALWAY RESEARCH ON FISH STOCKS

The Canadian ambassador to Ireland says a transatlantic research trip involving Galway scientists will provide essential information on sustaining fish stocks.

His excellency, Loyola Hearn boarded the RV Celtic Explorer at Galway docks today to meet collaborators in the expedition to St. Johns, Newfoundland.

It’s the third such voyage of its kind, and its aim is to search for ‘hot spots’ of smaller mid-water fish, such as lanternfish and begin to understand their distribution.
