The Lough Rea Hotel & Spa Senior championship semi-finals take centre stage this Sunday with a double header in Loughrea. Four-in-a-row chasing Killimor will aim to keep their title defence on track with their first outing in two months against 2011 intermediate champions Ardrahan at 12.30pm.

The other semi-final will precede this contest when Mullagh meet last year’s finalists Sarsfields at 11am. Along with Killimor, Mullagh are undefeated in this year’s championship and they commenced their campaign back in July with a 2-17 to 0-4 win over Sunday’s opponents.

On Saturday evening in Killimor, the Duanes Daybreak & Hardware Kiltulla Intermediate semi-finals also take place as Carnmore take on Eyrecourt (4pm) before Portumna meet Ahascragh/Caltra at 5.30pm. Carnmore and Portumna topped their respective groups and see action for the first time since August while Eyrecourt and Ahascragh/Caltra were in action last weekend.

Meanwhile, the Junior championship season concluded on Sunday with a double header.  Oranmore/Maree are Junior A champions after seeing off Clarinbridge in a thrilling contest on a 2-9 to 3-4 scoreline. The Junior B Special 12-a-side title went St Thomas’ way after a 4-10 to 2-8 victory over Mullagh.
