CALLS FOR URGENT ACTION TO PREVENT FLOODING NEAR N18

A county councillor is urging Galway County Council to take urgent action to avoid a repeat of last Winter’s heavy flooding between Derrydonnell and the N18.

Oranmore area Councillor Jim Cuddy says a lot of the drains in the area haven’t been cleaned in years.

The lack of maintenance has resulted in drains closing up and water lodging during spells of heavy rainfall.
