Oliver Callan will bring his popular show, Callan’s Kicks Live, to the Town Hall Theatre on Sunday, April 3. It’s the first time it has been staged in seven years and tickets are on sale now.

The event, being presented by Aiken Promotions, is part of a national tour as the impresario brings his huge cast of characters to the stage, with no shortage of new material.

It’s the first live Callan’s Kicks Live in the age of co-Taoisigh Micheál Martin and Leo Varadkar, while Boris Johnson is allegedly in charge of Britain – its last Prime Minister, according to Oliver – Joe Biden is in the White House and we’ve discovered celebrity scientists like Luke O’Neill.

Oliver promises to “deconstruct the leaders and stars of politics, sport and entertainment” in his “most ambitious show yet”, with dozens of impressions, sketches and voices.

These will include the Marty Party and the Two Tommys, an alternative history of Ireland, a whirlwind tour of county accents, film stars and GAA legends.

There will be a five-minute version of The Rose of Tralee, while people will learn why Enda Kenny is riding trains, what Mary Lou really wants, why Michael D is running a zoo at the Áras, and if Dermot Bannon can be halted and brought to justice. The return of Bertie Ahern will also be dealt with.

Tickets for Callan’s Kicks Live on Sunday, April 3, at 8pm, are €29 from the Town Hall box office, at tht.ie or on 091-569777.
