CALL TO SUSPEND FARM INSPECTIONS IN GALWAY
The Department of Agriculture is being urged to suspend farm inspections for Galway farmers.
Fine Gael Councillor, Peter Roche, says farmers are at their wits’ end and are facing severe difficulties because of bad weather recently.
He says there needs to be a ‘hands-on’ approach by the Government to address the agricultural crisis and support farmers.
His party colleague, Deputy Paul Connaughton is also calling on the Department to ensure farmers waiting on payments are paid as quickly as possible.
