CALL TO SUPPORT GALWAY FARMERS FOLLOWING SEVERE WEATHER

Galway’s farming community must be granted further government supports following the unseasonably severe weather.

That’s according to Galway East Fianna Fail TD Michael Kitt who says the weather conditions may cost farmers nationwide up to 100 million euro.

He’s calling for all non-essential on-farm inspections to be deferred until the weather improves.

Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, Deputy Kitt says calendar farming is not possible with the erratic weather of the past 12 months.
