Galway Bay fm newsroom – Cyclists who use the footpath along the Promenade in Salthill are causing concern to people walking in the area.

That’s according to Senator Fidelma-Healy Eames, who has written to the City Manager, Brendan McGrath on the issue.

She says cyclists need to be provided with a separate facility such as a dedicated cycle lane.

The Fine Gael senator says she has received complaints from elderly pedestrians, who have had close shaves with people cycling along the prom.
