Call to clarify longterm plan for St. Brigids ward in Ballinasloe
Galway bay fm newsroom – Galway East Fine Gael TD Paul Connaughton has called on the HSE to clarify the long-term plan for St.
Brigid’s ward in Ballinasloe.
The 22 bed acute pyschiatric unit is to be closed down at the end of this year as part of reconfiguration plans.
Under the review, 22 such beds will be maintained in Roscommon with 35 beds in the city.
Deputy Connaughton says there was no adequate consultation between families, patients and staff.
He says he has informed the Minister for Health and the HSE of shortcomings in the decision making process.
