There is a call to change the lay-out of the four roads at Cregclare in Ardrahan to prevent any more accidents occurring there.

Councillor Michael Fahy put forward a motion to the County Council to make the Loughrea /Castledaly road the main road and the Craughwell – Labane road the secondary road with ‘Stop’ signs erected.

However the Council says the proposed change, in the absence of a major realignment, might be hazardous for road users.

The crossroads will be examined however, in the context of the Low Cost Safety Improvement Grant Scheme.
