CALL FOR SECOND WESTDOC DOCTOR IN CONNEMARA

There is a warning of strong action from West Connemara if the HSE continues with its plan to introduce the Westdoc on a limited basis from June onwards.

A public meeting in Cill Chiaráin last night heard many concerns about a large area of south Connemara having only one doctor on duty during ten weekends per year.

But the HSE says the system is workable and has been agreed with local doctors.
