Call for safety barriers at Claddagh Quay
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Safety barriers should be erected at the Claddagh quay in the city, according to Councillor Niall McNelis.
The open quay currently doesn’t have any barriers in place and during high tide and stormy weather, the rising boats pose a safety hazard.
Councillor McNelis says there could be 50 boats moored at any given time at Claddagh Quay.
He’s calling on the Council to meet with a delegation of boat owners to discuss possible safety measures.
