CALL FOR NURSING HOME RESPITE CARE FOR NORTH GALWAY

There is no nursing home in North Galway permitted to offer respite care, forcing patients to travel long distances from their homes.

That’s according to councillor Seán Canney who says that to provide respite care, a nursing home must be designated to do so by the HSE.

He says five nursing homes have been selected but none of these are in North Galway.
