CALL FOR INQUIRY INTO RENTING OF CITY AFFORDABLE HOMES

Galway City Council is being called on to investigate if affordable homes in the city are being rented out.

PD councillor Declan McDonnell says he’s received complaints from people that affordable houses in some city housing estates are being rented out to third parties.

Affordable houses are allocated by the city council to people who meet a certain income criteria.

Councillor McDonnell is demanding that Galway City Council conduct an immediate investigation of all the affordable houses in the city.
