CALL FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INSPECTION OF UHG CHIMNEY

A City Councillor is calling for an Enviormental Health officer to inspect a Chimney and Boiler House on the grounds of UHG.

Newcastle Park residents are extremely concerned at the possible health and safety risks posed by a continuous smoke and smell coming from the chimney.

Labour Councillor Collette Connolly has written to the Director of Services for the Enviorment Tom Hernon to voice the residents concerns following a meeting with them this week.

Councillor Connolly told Galway Bay FM News she wants a detailed inspection to be carried out on the boiler house as soon as possible.
