CALL FOR COMMUINITY POLICE TO BE MORE VISIBLE

Members of the public have expressed concern about the lack of visible community policing around the city.

The views were aired at this weeks public meeting of the joint policing committee where a number of people said they have never seen the community guard for their area.

City residents called for the community guards to visibly patrol their area and interact with local people.

City councillor Collette Connolly is a member of the committee- she believes that people would feel more secure if they saw the Gardai on the beat.
