CALL FOR CIGNA WORKERS TO SHARE DELL RETRAINING FUND

It’s hoped some of the money being put towards retraining DELL staff in Limerick can be shared by CIGNA employees in Loughrea.

Staff were told at a meeting last evening that the centre, which has been in Loughrea since 1989, will close in June, with lay-offs beginning in March.

A CIGNA spokesperson said employees will get a company redundancy package as well as the statutory redundancy from the State.
