CALL FOR BAN ON HEAVY GOODS TRUCKS IN LOUGHREA

The sight of heavy goods vehicles in Loughrea town could become a thing of the past if new bye-laws are introduced.

At a meeting of Loughrea Town Council this week[11/4], Councillor James Regan said they had to bring in bye-laws because of the chaos that articulated trucks are causing in the town centre.

A proposal will now be sent to the NRA for new bye-laws and the introduction of a weigh-bridge in the town.
