CALL FOR ACTION ON BARRIERS OUTSIDE CITY NIGHTCLUBS

A city councillor has called for urgent action to address the erection of barriers outside city nightclubs.

Cllr Frank Fahy told this week’s meeting of the city’s Joint Policing Committee that the matter concerned three night clubs on Eglington Street, Forster Street and Abbeygate Street.

He said they shouldn’t be allowed to do it and raised concerns surrounding safety for footpath and road users.

City Manager Joe O’Neill said the local authority is liasing with Gardai.

Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, Cllr Fahy says the barriers must be reviewed.
