Cabin Collective gig to launch new single
Fledgling Galway band, The Cabin Collective, who have just been added to the Electric Picnic line-up on Sunday September 1, will play a Galway show at Kelly’s Bridge Street this Friday, July 19 to officially launch their debut single, Lines Are Fading which has been chosen Song of the Week by Ian Dempsey on the Today FM Breakfast Show this week.
The Cabin Collective sold out their last show at Kelly’s at the end of June and received some great reviews for their Main Stage appearance at the Westport Festival on June 30.
Lines Are Fading has been written by Corofin songwriter Keith Mullins and the Tuam band have been touring Ireland in the past fortnight promoting it, with TV appearances on Ireland AM, and radio interviews on the Pat Kenny Show on RTÉ Radio 1 and Ian Dempsey’s Breakfast Show on Today FM. Red Shoe Productions who make TG4’s arts programme, Imeall have just released the official video for Lines Are Fading.
The song was recorded by The Cabin Collective in the Scandinavian style log cabin outside Tuam where the nine-piece band first formed last Spring after a series of intensive rehearsals at the cabin.
The Cabin Collective feature four Galway songwriters and singers in their line-up; Noelie McDonnell whose song Nearly Four topped the iTunes Charts a few years ago, Leo Moran who co-wrote Clare Island and Red Cortina for The Sawdoctors, Anthony Thistlethwaite, one of the founding members of The Waterboys, and Keith Mullins who sings lead vocals on the Lines Are Fading debut single.
Completing the line-up are some of Galway’s finest musicians including Dave Clancy on pedal steel, Larry Kelly on guitar, percussionist Eimhin Cradock, Michael Coen on bass guitar and Rickie O’Neill on drums.
Tickets for their Kelly’s show are available from OMG (formerly Zhivago) in Shop Street Galway and from Ticketmaster outlets.
