Burglars spoil Mervue’s proud day

GARDAI are examining CCTV footage in relation to a burglary at a community crèche in Mervue in the early hours of Monday morning – the facility had only been officially opened on Saturday.

The break-in occurred shortly after 1am on Monday morning when the raiders broke the front window of the Little Acorn crèche on Michael Collins Road.

The thieves gained access to the manager’s office at the crèche where they stole a small amount of petty cash and a few cheques – some damage was also caused.
