Burglaries down but thieves target carparks across the county

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A major Garda clampdown on burglaries across the county is yielding results.
Last month, 29 burglaries were reported to county Gardaí – a drop of a quarter on the figure for January 2017.
However, there’s been a major spike in thefts from cars – with thieves targetting carparks at GAA matches, funerals and other public gatherings.
Gardaí are advising motorists to ensure valuables left in cars are kept out of sight, and to make sure vehicles are always locked when unattended.
