BUILDING CONTRACTS TO BE DRAWN UP FOR CITY SCHOOL

Plans to create a new building for a well-known secondary school in the city have taken a major step forward.

Galway West TD Frank Fahey says building contracts for Colaiste Iognaid are to be put in place this week.

The school – more commonly known as ‘the Jes’ – has been waiting a long time for this new building.

The existing building – located at Sea Road – will also be completely refurbished under the four-and-a-half-million euro project.
