BROTHERS JAILED FOR STEALING FROM CITY PARKING METERS

Two Romanian brothers have been sentenced for damaging and stealing from car parking meters in the city last year.

29 year old Vasile Feier and 23 year old Toader Feier appeared in custody before Galway District Court, where they were assisted by an interpreter.

Vasile Feier was sentenced to 22 months in prision for interfering with and stealing from car parking meters on November 20th last year at the Crescent and on January 29th on New Road and Canal Road.

He was also disqualified from driving for three years for using a car to travel to Galway for the purpose of crime.

His brother, Toader Feier, who has one previous conviction in the UK when he was aged 15, was sentenced to 23 months in prison.
