Renowned funny man Brendan Grace will present The Best of 39 Years of Comedy in the city’s Salthill Hotel and in the Lough Rea Hotel in January.

His latest show features some brand new material and some old favourites from his vast repertoire spanning almost four decades, during which he has earned a justified reputation for his wonderful sense of timing and ability to read an audience. A brilliant character actor, his ‘Bottler’ character is legendary and is now featured at every performance.

These days Brendan spends a considerable amount of time in Florida where he lives with his family.

Despite this he still plays the Irish theatre circuit and major hotel venues and in fact still considers Ireland home – in fact he recently sent Gay Byrne copies of a jazz album from Florida for the broadcaster’s Sunday show on Lyric FM.

Part of the reason for Brendan’s popularity is his accessibility, with a ‘meet and greet’ after every concert, which is appreciated by young and old.

In more recent times Brendan has managed to attract a younger audience mainly because the content of his show is family friendly and also because of his hilarious appearance in Father Ted, where he played the part of drinking, smoking, troublemaker extraordinaire Father Fintan Stack.

People can catch his new show in the Sathill Hotel on Sunday, January 9, with tickets available at the hotel, 091-522711. He is in the Lough Rea Hotel, Loughrea on Thursday, January 27. Tickets at the hotel, 091-880088. Bookings can also be made through ticketmaster.ie for both shows.
