Brave Connacht getting no support

A QUICK glance at the tiny scoreboard in the corner of Leinster’s temporary home at the RDS will have made for painful reading for Connacht’s battle weary side as they trudged off the field on Friday night.
After one of their most committed and bone crunching performances of the season to date, Connacht departed comprehensively beaten by a flat and uninspiring full strength Leinster.
The front eight, in particular, had plenty of cause for grievance and a large chunk of that frustration may well have been with their comrades in the backline.
Connacht led by three at the half way mark and even after a poor start to the second half were still well in the contest — trailing 12-9 — heading into the final quarter, but three spurned kicks at goal and a lamentable missed touch from a crucial penalty by out half Tim Donnnelly proved costly.
