Oranmore area Fianna Fáil councillor, Mary Hoade, is planning to contest a seat in the Tuam electoral area in this year’s local elections.

Councillor Hoade has been a representative for the Oranmore area for the past 10 years.

However last year, the electoral commission split many electoral areas by drawing up new boundaries and Councillor Hoade’s area is one of those affected.

Her votes would now be divided between the Oranmore electoral area and the Tuam electoral area.

Having considered her options, Councillor Hoade says she will now move to the Tuam area for the summer election.
