BOOST TO BUILDING INDUSTRY IN GORT

The building industry in Gort has got a boost now that planning permission has been granted for over 130 homes in the area.

Reddington Construction has got the go ahead for 132 houses, 6 apartments, a creche and shops at Ballyhugh.

During the planning application process, environmental group, An Taisce had expressed concern about possible flooding in the area.

County Planners have stipulated that an archaeologist be employed by the developer during the construction phase.

Also, the developer must provide a public footpath and lighting along the Tubber road in Ballyhugh.
