There’s been a major jobs boost for Connemara today with the announcement of 220 new positions in Inverin.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has just announced the positions at Mylan – a pharmaceutical manufacturer which is investing up to 76 million euro a year in Ireland between now and 2016.

The hi-tech jobs will be created at Bioniche Teoranta at Kilroe in East Inverin where 160 are already employed at the Udaras na Gaeltachta Industrial Estate.

The company manufactures sterile injectable pharmacuetical drugs and the expansion will involve the respiratory, injectables and oral solids divisions.

A further 280 jobs will be created by the company in Dublin.
