BOOK BY GALWAY NUNS IS NO.1 BEST SELLER IN IRELAND
Date Published: 09-Feb-2013
A book of prayer by nuns at Galway’s Poor Clare convent has made No 1 in the Irish best sellers.
The book "Calm the Soul" by The Poor Clares in Nuns Island Galway went to No. 1 this week in the Irish hard-back non-fiction best sellers list.
The nuns have drawn on their monastic tradition and, in the book, they suggest simple practices to help nourish the soul and find a sense of calm in to-day world.
It has been in the top five best sellers chart every week since its publication last October but this week it went to the Number One spot.
With practical advice in preparing for prayer, The Poor Clares look at ways people can slowly build up the amount of time spent in prayer and meditation in daily live, to achieve a sense of well-being.
They combine reflections on familiar prayers, such the Our Father and Hail Mary , with meditations on Scripture, and prayers for specific needs such as depression, self esteem and sickness.
