The Deans, made up o Gavin Dean, Gary Keon and Ronan Lally, will play Monroe’s on Wednesday next, December 21.

From Galway and in their early twenties, the band members have spent most of their teenage years on the road. After leaving school in their mid-teens, the group played what seemed like every bar and club from the west of Ireland to the mean streets of London and Leeds.

Now in 2011 The Deans are a force to be reckoned with.

Their performancse can last anything up to four hours with a mixture of high quality original blues and rock material and classics from legends like Howlin’ Wolf, Chuck Berry, Rory Gallagher, Taste, Peter Green, Muddy Waters, Horslips and more. Gavin Dean, the vocalist, guitarist and songwriter, is the driving force behind the young band.

His songs are filled with romantic notions, stories of travel and a lust for life that is shared by the entire band including drummer Gary Keon who has been pivotal in the Deans’ story. With his forceful and exciting drumming and vocal ability, his contribution to the group is immense.

Ronan Lally, bassist, vocalist and the latest edition to the group, has performed and toured with bands throughout Ireland since his mid teens. His rock-steady bass style and unique vocal harmonies are a worthy addition to the three piece.

Doors 11pm, tickets €10.
