Blazing Bows Ð masters of the fiddle in concert at the Town Hall Theatre

 It’s not often we get the chance to hear three masters of one traditional music instrument at the same. Blazing Bows, featuring three iconic fiddle players, Cathal Hayden, Dezi Donnelly and Tóla Custy, alongside Ed Boyd on guitar and John Joe Kelly on bodhrán play Galway on Sunday.

The five virtuosic musicians have individually played with a host of bands including Four Men and a Dog, Sharon Shannon Band, Mike McGoldrick band, Transatlantic Sessions, Calico, Flook and Kate Rusby bands to name but a few.

The band will be joined onstage at the Town Hall Theatre in Galway City on Sunday (8pm) by music students from Club Ceoil @ an Tulach, Scoil Chomcille an Tulach. Band member Tóla Custy visited the students last week to deliver a music workshop.

During that session he taught them some of the music that will be played during the upcoming Blazing Bows gig. Tóla was blown away by the standard of music in the school and as a result the students will join the band onstage for a few sets during the concert at the Town Hall Theatre.
