BLACKOUT IN SALTHILL AFTER ESB TRANSFORMER EXPLODED

Homes in the Grattan Park area of the city were left without electricity last night [20/9] after an ESB sub- transformer exploded there

The Fire Brigade was called to the scene of the explosion in Salthill at around 10 o’ clock last night, where the transformer was on fire

One unit of the brigade quickly brought the blaze under control and there was no threat to nearby houses and no-one was injured
