Deirdre Kinahan’s hit play These Halcyon Days will be staged at the Town Hall Theatre from Tuesday next, June 25 to Saturday, June 29.

It centres on Seán and Patricia, a pair of residents in a nursing home who are brought together by a shared love of theatre and music.

Seán is a former actor, who is now in a wheelchair and is living on his memories, convinced that his best days are behind him. That’s until Patricia, a retired schoolteacher, storms into his life. This passionate, feisty woman becomes his firm friend and is determined to prove to him that his life is still full of possibility.

This funny, life-affirming play by the writer of Moment and Bogboy is infused with the humour and humanity that has become a trademark of Deirdre Kinahan’s work.

Nominated for Best New Play at the Irish Times Theatre Awards for 2012, it features remarkable performances from two of Ireland’s leading actors, Anita Reeves and Stephen Brennan.  Tender and touching, These Halcyon Days is a celebration of the human spirit against the odds.

This production by Tall Tales and Solstice Arts Centre is presented by Landmark Productions.

Booking for These Halcyon Days is now open at the Town Hall Theatre on 091 569777 or on line www.tht.ie
