“Big player” for Oranmore site

A major site in the Oranmore area has now almost all of the ‘building blocks’ in place to attract a major international pharmaceutical plant over the coming year.
Local public representatives and community leaders in the Oranmore area have expressed confidence this week that nearly all the infrastructural foundation stones are now in place on the 69 acre site at Glenascaul, to draw a ‘big player’ into the area.
The Galway City Tribune has learned that over recent months the IDA has been involved in extensive contacts with major international companies in relation to the Oranmore site.
West Galway Fianna Fail TD Frank Fahey said that all the signs were good in relation to the Oranmore site and that the IDA were positive in terms of the prospects for this project. “This is a fantastic site where all of the infrastructural pieces of the jigsaw are now almost in place.
“The water supply is there, the high quality broadband links are there while the new N6 Galway/Dublin road will have a direct link to the site,” said Deputy Fahey.
