Big matches for Galway U20 and minor hurlers are called off
EVEN those bright sparks Maguire & Patterson wouldn’t have been able to arrange a GAA match over the coming weeks.
It’s the legacy of Ireland returning to Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions which has caused the suspension of all inter-county under-age action.
That decision has led to disappointment in the Galway U20 and minor hurling camps which had been gearing up for big matches this weekend.
The U20s were due to face Dublin in the provincial final at O’Moore Park, Portlaoise on Sunday, with the minors lined up for an All-Ireland semi-final against Munster champions Limerick the previous day.
A GAA spokesman said this week that the the U20 and minor hurling championships would be completed at the earliest available opportunity.
