Big-hearted dad turns on snow to give local kids a White Christmas

The White Christmas children in Knocknacarra were dreaming of became a reality this year as the streets in Ashleigh Grove were filled with snow.

That was thanks to Ashleigh Grove resident Pat Guinnane whose efforts to entertain his nine-year-old daughter Mila brought what appeared to bring every child on the road out to join in the fun.

“It really snowballed,” laughs Pat. “Last year, we tried to do it but the machine wouldn’t work so we tried again this year and it worked out perfectly.”

“The whole neighbourhood came out. I’m on the residents’ association so we sent around a quick text and everyone was there.

“I was able to guarantee them a white Christmas,” he says.
