BIG BILL FOR CHAPLAINCY AT GALWAY HOSPITALS

203 thousand euro was spent on chaplaincy services in Galway hospitals last year.

Today’s Irish Times reports that the HSE could make huge savings if it streamlined payments to priests across the HSE western region.

Figures for Galway University Hospitals show that over 203 thousand euro was spent on chaplaincy services last year.

A further 277 thousand was spent on the services in 2010.

This compares to a 179 thousand euro spend at St John’s Hospital in Limerick in 2011.
