Galway residents are being urged to take part in a new survey to study the use of the Irish language in the city.

The study, which is being carried out on behalf of Gaillimh le Gaelige, hopes to secure official bilingual status for the city.

Bilingual status would contribute to the local economy in the city and in the West of Ireland.

The ten minute survey can be accessed on the webiste www.gleg.ie
