Beyond the Barricade – a musical extravaganza at Town Hall Theatre

Beyond the Barricade – the hit musical theatre tour comes to Galway’s Black Box Theatre, this Friday, November 2.

Recreating original West End and Broadway hit songs, Beyond the Barricade presents a feast of music from classic to modern musicals, and has become the UK’s favourite musical theatre concert for the past two decades.

With West End stars, Andy Reiss, David Fawcett, Katie Leeming and Poppy Tierney, with an ensemble of talented musicians, Beyond the Barricade features songs from The Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, Chicago, The Lion King, Blood Brothers, Miss Saigon, Hamilton and many others, climaxing with a finale from Les Misérables.   It has toured the UK, mainland Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia for nearly two decades.

This Friday’s concert is Beyond the Barricade’s first visit to Galway.

Andy Reiss and David Fawcett devised Beyond the Barricade after appearing in the Manchester and London casts of Les Misérables.  David played the lead role of Jean Valjean in both productions, and Andy played most of the male characters, including Enjolras and Valjean.

On stage too are Katie Leeming and Poppy Tierney.

Katie joined Beyond the Barricade after playing the lead role of Eponine in the West End production of Les Mis. She appeared with the Les Misérables cast on the televised Classical Brits awards and the Royal Variety Show and is also an ensemble vocalist in the Les Misérables movie.
