BETTING DOWN ON DAY TWO OF GALWAY RACES

Tote betting at day two of the Galway Races was down almost 150 thousand euro on last year.

The tote turnover for day two of the Galway races stood at 1.14 million euro, down 148 thousand euro from last year’s tote of 1.29 million euro.

The bookies had an even bigger drop from 3 million euro last year, down to 2.1 million last night.

The 160,000 Tote Galway EBF Mile Handicap turned into a thriller watched by over 22 thousand racegoers.
