BENCH WARRANT FOR WOMAN TO THREATENED TO HAVE SALTHILL GARDAI KILLED
Date Published: 07-Apr-2009
A bench warrant has been issued for a woman, who told a Garda she would pay a Limerick gangland criminal €20,000 to put a bullet between his eyes.
35 year old Marie McCarthy of 19 Sycamore Court Renmore, was brought to Salthill Garda Station on January 19th last, having been arrested for breaching the peace at Dalysfort Road, Salthill.
Garda Kieran Quinn said that when he cautioned McCarthy and charged her with breaching the peace she told him she would contact those caught up in gangland crime in Limerick and would pay a gang member €20,000 to put a bullet between his eyes.
Garda Melissa Nallen said McCarthy was extremely violent in the Garda Station and she threatened to find out where every Garda lived and have someone kill them.
Hearing McCarthy has 51 previous convictions, Judge Mary Fahy issued a bench warrant for her arrest so that sentencing could take place.
