Date Published: 19-Nov-2009
A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Dublin man charged in connection with an armed robbery at a city jewellers last year.
25 year Eugene Cullen of 92 Derry Road, Crumlin had initially denied the robbery of 18 Cartier watches and 28 Rolex watches valued at 109 thousand euro, from Hartmann Jewellers, William Street on November 28th.
Eugene Cullen’s defence team indicated at Galway Circuit Criminal court in July that Cullen’s trial would take a week or more.
He was remanded on continuing bail, as set by the High Court, to appear before the court in Galway this week to stand trial.
However Cullen failed to appear in court yesterday.
Judge Raymond Groarke issued a bench warrant for Cullen’s arrest.
