BELCLARE CRASH VICTIM NAMED LOCALLY

The man who died following a road crash in the Tuam area last night [Feb 17] has been named locally as Eugene Hoade of Cullagh in Headford.
The single vehicle crash took place at 11.30pm about a mile outside the village of Belclare on the R333.
40 year old Eugene Hoade was killed when the black BMW he was driving hit a tree – he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 46 year old man, also a local, who was a passenger in the car, is being treated for shoulder and back injuries at University Hospital Galway.
A technical examination of the crash scene has now been completed and Gardai in Tuam are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact them on (093)70840.
