Behind the scenes of Christina Noble biopic
Ciaran Scott, the director of the Irish film In A House that Ceased to Be and the film’s subject, Christina Noble will visit the city’s Eye Cinema this Saturday, March 21, to take part in a Q&A session with the audience.
In a House that Ceased to Be, which is is on release from this Friday, follows Noble, the Irish humanitarian and children’s rights activist, whose commitment and efforts have seen her better the lives of countless children since 1989. Her drive stems from her own childhood in Ireland, which was fraught with poverty, loss and institutional abuse. Despite achieving so much in the face of adversity, Noble remains scarred by the memory of the children she was unable to save – her own brother and two sisters, from whom she was separated at a very young age.
This powerful film gives an unflinching portrayal of her pain and betrayal, demonstrating Noble’s struggle to forgive the country in which she and her siblings were born, raised and ultimately torn apart
Galway journalist Olaf Tyaransen will conduct the Q&A session on Saturday after the 7.05pm screening. Tickets are €9.10 for adults and €6.70 for students . The rating is 15A.
