Bank of Ireland start-up workbench

Bank of Ireland has opened a new start-up workbench in its Mainguard Street branch in Galway; the new workbench is free and open to start-ups to use as base to work from.

The Mainguard Street branch offers state of the art banking and workspace facilities including a free co-working space for up to 12 start-up businesses, on a fully flexible basis.

It is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and has free WiFi, coffee and tea for anyone using the space.

Businesses can also make use of the space for meetings and breakout sessions with two meeting rooms, a boardroom and an informal seating area with screens that can be used for presentations or utilised as a marketing tool to promote upcoming events.

Other services offered to businesses from are a space to exhibit and present their products from or to hold private client or staff meetings.  The area is also available for businesses to hold breakfast or evening events from.

A number of key entrepreneurs from the Galway area spoke at the official launch – including Michael Fitzgerald,  CEO and Founder of OnePageCRM.com, who gave a presentation on the  “Early sales in a start-up”, Dr John Breslin, Senior Lecturer, NUI Galway, Chairman Startup Galway, Co-Founder, Galway City Innovation District spoke on “Startup Community – What Galway can do next?” and Maricka Burke Keogh, Head of Digital Marketing, Altocloud and Founder of Online Marketing in Galway, spoke on “Digital Marketing Priorities for a Start Up”.

“The new facilities at our Mainguard Street branch is very exciting for us as it ensures we offer start-ups in Galway a modern and city centre base to work and network from and also continues our support for the start-up sector,” said Colin Kingston, Area Manager North West.

“I am sure the new space will fast become an important location for many start-ups who will use the space for meetings, day to day working in Galway city to meet clients and create new business opportunities,” he added.
