Bank of Ireland’s plans to extend it’s building in Eyre Square have been slapped down by city planners for being excessive and inappropriate.

They’ve refused the bank permission to add a fourth and fifth floor to a rear extension of the bank at No. 43 Eyre Square.

In refusing the bank permission, the planning authority said it’s plans were incompatible with the City’s objectives for built heritage in the city centre.
